Following a successful launch of the digital member registration exercise in Teso Sub region last week by opposition political party, Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), a similar activity was yesterday, the 29th of June, 2024 organized in Bugisu Sub region.

The launch of the digital registration exercise in Bugisu Sub region was held at Mbale Cricket ground.

The event is part of their countrywide mobilization tour in preparation for the 2026 General Election.

The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm as supporters from the Bugisu Sub-region came together to hear the party leaders' plans and strategies for the upcoming election. The tour aims to strengthen the party's presence and galvanize support across the country.

While addressing the media early morning, before the event took place, Masa Musa, the organizing committee chairperson for the Bugisu event said that the online member registration by FDC is the first of its kind in the political spectrum of Uganda and there is need to popularize it.

In his speech, Hon. Nathan Mafabi, who is also the party secretary General welcomed the ongoing fight against corruption in public institutions saying it should not be selective as evidenced in the Karamoja iron sheets saga.

According to Nandala, President Museveni’s fight against corruption should have started long time ago in order to save public funds that are wasted at the expense of service delivery to Ugandans.

Nandala also assured the huge crowd that he would be contesting for presidency in 2026.

"I am keepable of running this country, we need change and I am the right person to take on this country from president M7"- Nandala.

The party president, Patrick Oboi Amuriat thanked the people of Bugisu for turning out in big numbers.

"You see, a few individuals think that FDC has no supporters and members, you people have ashamed them, it has gone on record that FDC is still strong"-Amuriat.

He further called upon the public to be part of the ongoing party membership digital registration.
