The Deputy Executive Director of Uganda Investment Authority has resigned his position effective 27th May, 2024.
Paul Kyalimpa communicated his decision to resign to the Chairman, Board of Directors UIA and the Director General of UIA on the 16th of May, 2024.
Kyalimpa says he is resigning to pursue a professional training that may take him more than one year that requires intense concentration and dedication.
Kyalimpa, his boss and others have been on the spot for allegedly paying themselves millions of money in what they called Service Awards.
Early this week, a letter leaked showing that there was a legal beef between Kyalimpa and the State Minister for Investment, Evelyn Anite over what Kyalimpa called defamation by the Minister.
Through Alaka & Company Advocates, Kyalimpa wrote to Anite on 26th June, 2024 threatening to sue her for alleged defamation after she tagged Kyalimpa among others who benefited from the Service Awards on her X Handle on the 14th June, 2024.
In response, Anite wrote back indicating that Kyalimpa actually received Shs58,140,000 of the Shs280,421,368 shared out by 9 staff members of UIA including the ED, Robert Mukiza who allegedly signed off Shs82,620,000.
