The Parliament of Uganda recently passed the LGBT Act which prohibits same-sex marriage and in this Act had many restrictions.

Reports were introduced, and the following would also be prosecuted if found giving any aid to the LGBTQ convicts.

This included Doctors, religious leaders, lawyers and activists.

According to the "freedom fighter" & pastor of one of the churches in Uganda, Amanya Wilber, they have faced many challenges since the bill was passed and many of his fellow pastors have been arrested for helping LGBTQ Members.

While in a one-on-ond with our reporters, Amanya said the LGBTQ members in Uganda have suffered untold hardships including arson & other crimes.

He further said that as a church they shouldn't discriminate against all people because they are there to satisfy the soul, though, they also sometimes fail & lack support.

He urged President M7 and the Speaker of the August House to take action to amend the Act as it is too harsh & violates human rights.

Herbert Sserunjoji who is also a Human Rights Activist said that the drafters of the law are using hatred , poison and selfishness which doesn't help all people, except those who have their own interests as human beings.

Sserunjoji also said that LGBT are not allowed to get health care which is very wrong and non acceptable.

Sserunjoji adds that Ugandans are law abiding citizens.

The anti-gay bill has been met with criticism from human rights groups who argue that it is a violation of individual rights and will promote discrimination against the LGBTQ+ community.

It is important to note that homosexuality is currently illegal in Uganda and carries a potential penalty of life imprisonment. However, the proposed bill seeks to introduce even stricter penalties, including the death penalty for certain offenses.
