Namisindwa RDC Demands Full Audit of Government Projects

Namisindwa’s Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Hajji Imran Muluga, has called for a complete audit of the district’s projects for the 2023/24 financial year.

Speaking at a district address on Friday evening, Muluga questioned the legitimacy of several projects mentioned in the district chairman’s report. He stressed that his office, responsible for commissioning all district projects, was unaware of many listed projects.

District Chairman Jackson Wakweika presented a report as required by the Local Government Act and standard rules of procedure. He noted that the district received 35.2 billion shillings, exceeding the estimated 33.7 billion shillings for the fiscal year.

However, Male Youth Councilor Bwayo Emma criticized the report as exaggerated, citing unfinished and substandard projects like the 330 million shilling Namikhoma Bridge, 60 million Saala Bridge

and the Bupoto-Matuwa-Bumbo road. Bwayo argued these issues have negatively impacted the district's performance in national ratings..
