President M7 is set to officially Launch the biggest fuel terminal in Uganda.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni⁩ is set to officially Launch “Lake Victoria Logistics”(MAHATHI) on the 18-July-2024.

The plant is located in,  kawuku along Lake Victoria.

This fuel plant is to transport fuel supplies to Uganda via lake currently from kisumu and the two fuel vessels are in operations.

According to Captain Mike Mukula, who is the Chairman Emeritus & a Shareholder in the MAHATHI INFRA (U ) LTD, the Strategic fuel tanks & logistics infra structure are now ready to uplift fuel  from kisumu KPC supply chain.

While in a one-on-one with our reporter, Captain Mike Mukula, revealed that this investment is now fully in Operation & already serving the country & the region at large.

This Multi Billion USD  project is located in Kawuuku, off Entebbe Road, on the showers of lake Victoria in Wakiso District.

Mukula, further said  that, On September 9th 2021 Mahathi Infra Uganda LTD held an event at which they  unveiled Uganda largest in land water  transport ship, this ship which is 118 meters by 23 meters, is larger & longer than Mandela stadium, commonly known as Nambole.

Mukula also said Mahathi Infra Uganda LTD is going to change the way Uganda Imports fuel.

"What happens today is that any of you who has ever used the routs from Malaba to Uganda or Mombasa to Kampala will notice  that one in every ten cars on that rout is a fuel truck. we are also  fortunate that there has been more Accidents by these trucks"- Mukula.

Mukula noted that Mahathi is going to be the game changer in a short period of time.

It should be noted that One of the ship constructed by Mahathi Infra Uganda LTD, bringing in 4.6 million liters of fuel in one travel and Ugandans consumption of fuel is 5 million liters everyday.

Captain Mukula assured our reporter that there will be reduction in the number of trucks we have on routes of Malaba and Busia which save our roads and reduce on risks of accidents.

"What you need to know is that, before fuel has been arriving in mombasa by ship and then it is transported to Kampala by truck, Mahathi is going to change that because fuel will kam direct from kisumu, be Pumped in mahathi terminals, then to Uganda in Kawuku, where other stake holders like Vivo Energy, Total, Shell, Mogas, Kobil, Orex etc, well collect it from Kawuku cutting on costs and this may lead to a reduction in fuel prices"- Mukula noted.
