There was drama at Courts View Hotel in Mbale yesterday, 23rd August 2024 after a disagreement between Minister Florence Nambozo.
The disagreement occurred when the minister altered contradicting statements, noting that the organizing committee had sidelined Sironko District leadership from the event.
Minister Nambozo claimed that Chris Buyela, the Bugisu ONC boss, had eliminated Sironko District leadership, which the whole team disagreed with.
This is not the first time big Bugisu NRM big wings clash, reportedly, a group of youths have been paid to de-campaign the ongoing Bugisu Youth Symposium event.
Other politicians claim that Buyela is too young to lead the process as well as heading the whole region as the ONC boss.
Though, the youths said they were contented with Buyela's leadership.
According to these youths, many NRM big wings in Bugisu are planning to hyjack the Symposium and take credits from president M7.
Minister and her other members abandoned the meeting immaturely claiming that she had been disrespected.
Nambonzo is a State minister for Karamoja as well as a woman member of parliament in the Sironko District.
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is expected to grace the Bugisu Youth Symposium that is slated for 12th September this year.
The symposium is organized by the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), and it’s intended to change the mindset of the youths regarding wealth creation and poverty eradication.
Chris Buyera, the Chairperson of ONC Bugisu, noted that the symposium is not only targeting NRM youths and supporters of President Museveni but also targeting all people from different political parties and affiliations.
According to Buyela, Youths From Sebei shall also take part in the symposium.
Buyela further said that among the activities shall be tree planting and exhibition in the Parish Development Model.
