While appearing On Mama Bukedea FM, a local radio in Teso yesterday, the speaker revealed that it her love for sports that stimulated her to start up such a facility.
"It is a great pleasure & honor being a guest on Mama Bukedea Radio ahead of the FEASSA games opening on 18th August 2024, which will be a Sunday"- Among in her opening remarks.
During the interview, the host asked her why she chose to invest in sports infrastructure.
In response, speaker Among highlighted that Uganda has immense untapped talent but lacks the necessary infrastructure to nurture it.
"This motivated me to build a sports complex aimed at helping young Ugandans develop their talents, compete on the global stage, and increase our representation in the Olympic Games"- Among.
According to the plans, President Museveni is expected to commission the sports facility this weekend ahead of the kick-off of the FEASSA games.

Bukedea Comprehensive & Amus College School is set to host the East African School Sports Championships under the Federation of East Africa School Sports Associations (FEASSA) from August 16th to 27th, 2024.
The preparations for the event are well underway, with five fields, including the main stadium, now ready for the competition.
The main stadium boasts a standard pitch measuring 105x68 meters, comparable to those used by top European football clubs such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, AC Milan, and Manchester United.
The stadium features a pavilion with a seating capacity of over 30,000, including 1,000 VIP seats.
In addition to football, the stadium will also host athletics and basketball events on its well-maintained courts.
Teams from across East Africa will be participating, including schools from Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan, and Uganda.
Uganda’s contingent will be led by Amus College School, Bukedea Comprehensive School, St. Mary’s Kitende, and St. Julian, the defending champions in just concluded Uganda boys games.
Football venues include the Bukedea Comprehensive Field, School of Hygiene Field, and Mbale City Stadium.
Additional sports will be held at Mbale Cricket Ground, Mbale School of Health Sciences, and local rugby grounds.
