Police Officer Arrested for Shooting Ex-Lover and Fellow Officer in Kampala

 

A police officer has been arrested and detained at Jinja Road Police Station in Kampala for allegedly shooting his ex-lover and another officer dead.

The suspect, identified as Police Constable Alex Adei from the City Tactical Counter-terrorism unit, is said to have committed the act around 9pm on Sunday. Initial reports indicated one fatality, but another officer was later discovered in a pool of blood near the scene, suggesting the second victim was also hit by the gunfire.

Adei’s motive appears to be linked to jealousy after discovering that his former partner had moved on following their separation over domestic issues.

He was apprehended after being on the run with the firearm and is now in custody, awaiting legal proceedings.
