Court finally grants bail to the 36 FDC Katonga leaders who were arrested in Kenya

The 36 FDC (Katonga) leaders who were violently arrested from a Kisumu hotel on 23rd July 2024 have finally been granted bail.

The leaders who were later charged with terrorism have finally been granted bail by the International Crimes Division of High Court on 31st October 2024.

The news of granting Bali to the 36 leaders has been confirmed by Dr. Col. Kizza Besigye Kifefe the former FDC party President.

“The 36 FDC (Katonga) leaders, who were violently kidnapped from a Kisumu hotel on 23rd July and later charged with “terrorism” (by the real terrorists), have been granted bail by the International Crimes Division of High Court”, he said.

According to Besigye, the terms of bail for each leader is cash worth Ugx 2M, sureties given a non cash bond of Ugx 50M, depositing of Passports/National IDs in Court and also report to High Court once per month.

Besigye revealed that they now need Ugx 72M to secure their freedom hence appealing to all members & well-wishers to contribute for the cause.
