Excitement as Nyondo SS/Community receive a brand new Van & renovation of several blocks.

Students and community members in Nyondo are in jubilation after receiving a brand new Van, renovating different old buildings, and repairing the school coaster, which was in bad mechanical condition.

Speaking to community members one-on-one with our reporter, Wamukota James, a parent, said that the school has transformed ever since it received a new head teacher.

"We first undermined Mr. Wandulu based on his age; he looked like a young man who we thought wouldn't make any change to Nyondo SS; it is of now that our thoughts were wrong. In just seven months, the school has got a new face look"-Wamukota.

Wamaluku Andrew, a resident of Purunyende also told our reporter that he was happy seeing a school transform in a short period of time.

"We are always benefiting from Nyondo SS as a community, the development underway clearly shows that the new management has a big vision"-Wamaluku

Innocent Mungoma, an S4  student excitemently told our reporter that the new looks of the school excited all the students at the begining of third term.

Speaking to Mr Wandulu Dismas, he noted that there is a big plan to transform and develop the school.

According to Wandulu, Key projects undertaken from Feb 2024 include the Renovation of two old classroom blocks, landscaping the school compound, paving the Assembly grounds, Repairing the school Coaster, and procuring a brand new Van.

"We are now planning to get a Bus for the school and also add more buildings in the compound due to the high population.

It should be noted that Nyondo SS is among the best-performing secondary schools in Mbale Districts.

In 2023, the school produced the best UCAE student, Derick Werishe (PCM/ICT) now offering Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Makerere University on government sponsorship. 

The school has over 1900 students.

Nyondo Secondary School was an initiative of catholic parents of Nyondo Parish with the support and guidance of Nyondo catholic church leaders, located in Fuumu, Bufukhula, Nyondo, Mbale District, and eastern Uganda.

It was founded in 1984. It is also a student-based learning institution with well-seasoned Teaching and non-teaching staff that support the development of the School.
