Minister Nambozo Tips Youths on Wealth Creation

 


Florence Nambozo, the State Minister for Karamoja Affairs, has called on Bugisu youth to engage in wealth creation programs to improve their economic status. 

Nambozo made the remarks on Friday during a one-day consultative youth retreat at Mt. Elgon Hotel in Mbale City, attended by 16 youth leaders from each of the six districts and one city that form Bugisu(112 youths). 

 Nambozo, who is also the Sironko District Woman MP, urged the youth to stay focused and mobilize their peers to take advantage of government initiatives such as the Parish Development Model (PDM), which allocates 30% to youth, as well as EMYOOGA and other wealth creation programs. 

 Asumin Nasike, the Mbale Resident City Commissioner, encouraged youth leaders to avoid petty divisions and focus on unity. She emphasized that organized youth have many opportunities, noting that she herself is a product of youth politics.  



Bwayo Emma, the Namisindwa Male Youth Councilor and event organizer, urged his peers to resist manipulation by senior politicians, whom he accused of benefiting from divisions. He called on young people to unite and support one another, announcing plans for district-level mobilization tours to bring together all Bugisu youth.
