Opinion: "Biased census report about Decline in population growth in BUGISU is disadvantages to service delivery"- Wandulu Rogers.

According to Wandulu Rogers, a concerned Mumasamba, a biased census report about the Decline in population growth in BUGISU is a disadvantage to service delivery.

His opinion is a reaction to the launching of the 2024 Uganda National Population and Housing Census Dissemination Report (NPHC2024), which happened on Thursday last week at Serena Hotel in Kampala.

Wasndulu says that the intentionally reduced Numbers, as per the report, is to deny Bugisu some services since it's a baseline to some services like the creation of new administrative units.

Wandulu further called upon leaders in Bugisu to follow up on the report.

"Our leaders should follow up and ensure the right numbers are got. We can't reduce to that level even if people die daily"- Wandulu noted.

According  to Wandulu's analysis by % of Bagisu and Babukusu in each region across Uganda is as follows:-

Babukusu are 46% in Elgon that is 1 million but yet they are recorded as just 35k minority

Bagisu in elgon alone are 76.8% which 1.7 million

12% in Buganda, which is about 700k.

The total population for Uganda as of May 2024, based on the National Population and Housing Census 2024, stands at 45,905,417 persons, with the male population recorded at 21,566,736 while the Female is recorded at 24,338,681 persons.
