PR. kayanja before Court Over Alleged Sodomy on 9 Men, denied being Gay

Pastor Robert Kayanja of Rubaga Miracle Centre has today revealed details of his relationship with nine men who accused him of sodomizing them.

Appearing before Mwanga ll road court in Mmengo in a case in which he is accused of sodomizing his former workers, Kayanja, 62, said he first met the group during his 2017 revival event, “77 DOGs,” when they sought to turn their lives around.

He said his church welcomed them and even helped them identify problematic individuals.

He said after some time, some members of the group told him they wanted to join his security team, a request he granted.

Kayanja said he deployed them at his farm in Kiryandongo on a rotational basis.

The pastor told court that later he started receiving reports of theft, assault, robbery, and the abandonment of the farm by the suspects.

“I lost over 30 cows in that period,” Kayanja told court.

They claimed to be tired of working and demanded immediate payment of their full salaries.

Kayanja said he agreed to pay them their arrears but in installments.

But during the Covid-19 lockdown, Kayanja says the group assaulted people at the church gate, entered the premises, and began shouting obscenities while recording themselves.

The pastor said they then started accusing him and other leaders of sodomizing them and demanded payment for this alleged act.

Kayanja said the videos caused him concern and reminded him of a similar incident in 2010 when some pastors accused him of being gay.

“I am not gay,” Kayanja told court.
