Rwanda Mountain Gorilla Rally Revs Up: Mukula Jr. Leads Championship Points

 


Kigali, Rwanda – The 2024 Rwanda Mountain Gorilla Rally is gearing up for a thrilling start on October 18-20, with over 20 drivers competing in the prestigious event. George Mukula Jr., son of Ugandan businessman and politician Captain Mike Mukula, is among the contenders and currently leads the championship points in the Category 2 race.

Captain Mike Mukula confirmed his son’s participation on X (formerly Twitter), expressing pride in Mike Mukula Jr.’s accomplishments. “Mike Mukula Jr has registered for the Africa Rally Championship-Rwanda mountain Gorillas championship rally 2024 In Kigali and he currently leading the event championship points race category 2 in Rwanda to be flagged off tomorrow.”

Kenyan driver Karan Patel, defending champion of the 2023 edition, will seek to retain his title and potentially secure his second consecutive African Rally Championship.

The annual rally, part of the African Championship, will cover challenging routes in Kigali and Bugesera. Drivers from four African countries – Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda – will compete for the top spot.
