Politics in Bungokho Central has gained momentum as we near the 2026 General Elections. Several politicians have shown interest in outing Hon. Wanda Richard, who has been in Parliament for only one term, after outing Hon. Michael Welikhe Kafabusa, who was in the August House since 1998.
The current candidate to clear his bid to join the race is Wamono George, a resident of Nabumali TC in Mbale District.
Wamono Goerge officially displayed his official campaign post over the weekend in different WhatsApp groups.

Inside source has it that veteran politician and former Member of Parliament Welikhe Kafabusa Michael has also shown interest in bouncing back in the race in the fourth coming 2026 general elections.
Wamono will join others, like Masaba Muhamood, the current mayor of the Industrial City division, Mauso Andrew, who has been in the race more than three times, Chris Mafabi, the LC3 of Bungokho, Hellen Neboshi, Welikhe Kafabusa, Wambete Khotsa, Wanda Richard, Eric Mukhwana, a former official in INZU ya Masaba, Waira Francis, Mafabi Chris, Muleyi Timothy & Wanamama peter
All the above are in a bid to out Hon. Wanda Richard, who is in Parliament for his term.
