Several individuals appeared at the Kasangati Chief Magistrates Court wearing t-shirts bearing images of former KCCA ED Dorothy Kisaka, who, together with other two ex-top officials, have been granted bail.

Former Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) top officials, who include Executive Director Dorothy Kisaka, her Deputy Eng. David Luyimbazi, and Director of Public Health and Environment, Dr. Daniel Okello, have been granted bail of sh 5 million cash each and sh 100 million non-cash for each surety.
The trio were granted bail by the Kasangati Magistrate’s Court after spending more than two weeks in Luzira Prison on charges of manslaughter and negligent acts following the August 10 Kiteezi dumpsite garbage collapse.
The garage collapse killed at least 35 people and left many others injured.
The mountain of garbage that collapsed also destroyed property worth millions, including people’s homes and animals.
The three suspects face 34 counts of manslaughter and 21 charges for causing harm through reckless or negligent acts.
They have denied all the charges against them.
The court ordered them to surrender their passports and seek permission before leaving the country.
