What you Need To Know:
Few weeks ago, Workers of the J414 Foundation, a community-based organization renowned for rehabilitating boreholes and organizing village SACCOs across Uganda, were in the media calling upon the authorities to intervene in their issue.
Though according to J Smith, this was stage managed.
A month ago Jemimah is said to have collectted roughly 40m shillings from over 76 bore hole community funds and vocational savings and loan groups, and Smith says this money is also missing.
It should be noted that the foundation, has constructed numerous boreholes and currently supports 104 SACCOs with over 10,800 members.
JD Smith shared with this publication several statements of him, wiring funds to the Uganda account.
"Jemimah would just withdraw the money Use it for her personal needs, she had no accountability for the funds I've been sending for a year now" - he noted.
He also accused Jemimah for blocking his coming to Uganda.
"All of this has come to light since my trip to Uganda in November Wasn't successful. I still don’t fully understand what has happened because of so many missing files and computers, iPads, etc"- Smith .
Source has it that Jemima has a pump supply store in Mbale
"I believe at this moment she was requesting funds to repair more wells than work was actually being done, but I still don’t know the extent of this. She’s taken all the money out of the account from November which was over US$18,000 and I needed that money for salaries to employees. She also failed to submit audited financials to the URA and that resulted in our NGO being suspended"- Smith said.
