As we weather another Presidential Transition, Diaspora Open Space, under the visionary leadership of founder Remmy Bahati, a renowned journalist and criminal justice researcher, has made a historic step by meeting with the President’s Executive Team at the White House. The meeting championed the voices, needs, and aspirations of African Diaspora communities, emphasizing the urgency of their inclusion in shaping U.S. policy and global decision-making.  

This transformative dialogue highlighted critical areas requiring immediate attention, including immigration reform, public policy, community empowerment, and economic equity. Diaspora Open Space reaffirmed its mission to unite diasporic communities under a shared vision of systemic change and impactful advocacy.  

As part of this groundbreaking initiative, Diaspora Open Space announced the inaugural Diaspora Forum, a trailblazing event that will convene African Diaspora leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders. The forum aims to foster collaboration, tackle pressing challenges, and celebrate the Diaspora’s extraordinary contributions to both their adopted and ancestral homelands.  

“The African Diaspora is a global powerhouse of innovation, resilience, and transformation,” stated Remmy Bahati. “This meeting is not just a conversation, it’s a declaration. We demand to be heard, valued, and recognized as vital contributors to the policies that shape our lives.”  

The White House has committed to partnering with Diaspora Open Space to advance shared goals and ensure a lasting impact on systemic inequities facing the African Diaspora. This collaboration represents a bold step in amplifying the Diaspora’s influence and securing its rightful place in policy discussions at the highest levels.
