Mothers play significant roles in shaping the future, making positive impacts on society, shaping a child`s character and values, vice President Jessica Alupo says.
Represented by gender, Labour and social development minister Betty Amongi at the mothers raising Kings luncheon at Shereton Hotel in Kampala on Saturday, Alupo says the influence of mother`s love, guidance and teaching can also shape children`s character. She added that mothers also prepare children to face the challenges of life with strength and wisdom.
“A mother instills qualities such as courage, compassion, integrity, and resilience in her child, nurturing their potential to become leaders who advocate for justice and equality,” she added.
Through her support and encouragement, she said she empowers her child to strive for greatness, overcome obstacles, and make a difference in the world.
She said most of the mothers don’t only focus on their child’s personal success but also instill a sense of responsibility towards others.
“You teach responsiveness, kindness, and the importance of using one’s power for the greater good,” she added.
She expressed the Government’s support for the noble cause of the sub-region and all the good work that this Foundation and indeed the mothers both here and out there, are doing in grooming our country’s children.
