NRM's Nakesa Preaches Wealth Creation As She Mobilizes UGX 15M for God’s Property Church in Busia


Ambassador Barbara Nekesa, the National Treasurer of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), led a successful fundraising effort at God’s Property Church in Busia District(fundraising machines for indoor and outdoor ministry), raising a total of UGX 15 million to support the church and its associated initiatives.

The fundraising function happened yesterday 8th December 2024 in Busia District.

Ambassador Nekesa, renowned for her dedication to community development, announced that UGX 10 million had been mobilized from her colleagues at the NRM Secretariat, while she personally contributed an additional UGX 5 million as a seed fund for the Busia Pastors’ Forum. This contribution underscored her commitment to empowering local communities through faith-based initiatives and wealth creation programs.

The UGX 10 million donation from the NRM Secretariat was a collaborative effort involving:

The team also included administrative and technical staff from the secretariat, demonstrating a united effort to support Busia's development.

Ambassador Nekesa’s Call to Action: Wealth Creation and Unity

In her address to the congregation, Ambassador Nekesa emphasized the transformative potential of government programs such as the Parish Development Model (PDM) and Emyooga. She urged believers to combine these opportunities with their God-given talents to combat poverty and achieve self-reliance.

“You cannot be a true believer or worshipper unless you have money in your pocket,” she stated, emphasizing the importance of financial stability in individual and community growth. She highlighted practical investments such as poultry and goat rearing as viable pathways to prosperity.

Ambassador Nekesa also encouraged the congregation to make productive use of their time, urging them to focus on activities that generate income and contribute to the development of Busia.


Reflecting on her personal journey from Busia to national leadership, Ambassador Nekesa reminded the audience of their collective responsibility to transform the district. “If we wait for anybody to change Busia, in a couple of years everyone will tell their neighbor that we are waiting for our own selves,” she remarked.

Her contribution of UGX 5 million to the Busia Pastors’ Forum signaled her commitment to faith-based development, with a promise of continued support in future visits.
