Cyprian Mafabi, a youth leader and staff member at the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) in Mbale City, has graduated from the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) with a bachelor's degree in Records and Information Management.
Reflecting on his academic journey, Mafabi described it as challenging but rewarding. "The journey has not been easy, with many obstacles along the way. Sometimes, we would come to class only to be sent away by lecturers. But we thank God we have completed," he said, expressing gratitude to everyone who supported him.
Mafabi urged young people to prioritize education, emphasizing its long-term value. "Many youth don't see the importance of education until they grow older. In today's world, you shouldn't focus solely on job opportunities in Uganda. Instead, aim to become a job creator rather than a job seeker," he advised.
He encouraged his peers to pursue vocational training and higher education, stating that the knowledge acquired can open new opportunities.
"With the knowledge we have gained, you can't just sit at home waiting for a job. I advise all young people to join institutions and study," he added.
Mafabi also announced his intention to contest for the position of Eastern Uganda Youth MP in the 2026 elections, signaling his ambition to continue serving and advocating for young people in the regioregion
