More than one thousand Residents in Butooto Subcounty in Manafwa District have rejected Government's program of relocating homesteads suspected to be affected by landslides.
It should be noted that a few months ago, the Government through the office of the Prime Minister established a program of relocating homesteads, which were affected or suspected to be affected by landslides in the areas of Bugisu Subregion.
The relocation resulted from the Bulambuli mudslide which claimed over 36 people and misplaced hundreds of Homesteads.

According to the resistant residents, they claim that they are not in the danger zone as opm reports indicated.
They also claim the Government was offering little funds for them to relocate to new places, which are safe from landslides.
