CDF General Muhoozi Spits Fire over Lt. Ariho’s Suicide by Shooting

The Chief of Defense Forces of UPDF, General Kainerugaba Muhoozi is spitting fire over the suicide by shooting by a one Lt. Amon Ariho citing corruption in the UPDF Engineering Department,

Lt. Ariho took his own life on 1st January, 2025 at Nakirebe Playground opposite Gasline petrol station in Mpigi District.

The soldier left a letter requesting the Chief of Defence Forces to revise some of things in the Engineering Brigade alleging that Major Ogwang, the head of the Department was the cause of his death.

General Muhoozi has taken to his X-Handle warning that those found culpable of Lt. Ariho’s death shall pay heavily.

“I am personally hurt by the suicide of our young officer… Lt.Ariho. He died because of the corruption Mzee and I have been talking about for a long time now. His blood will be avenged and the thieves will pay,” writes Gen Muhoozi.

The State Minister for Youths and Child Affairs, Balaam Barugahara elicited similar sentiments saying, “Deeply saddened by the loss of Lt. Amon Ariho, site Engineer Gombe Hospital. His tragic passing highlights the devastating consequences of corruption. Standing with you in demanding justice and accountability. May his memory fuel our collective fight against corruption. Gen @mkainerugaba , I trust you will crush corruption.”

Meanwhile the UPDF provided an official statement saying, the UPDF has received a report on a case of suicide by Lt Ariho of our Engineers Brigade. This is very regrettable given the fact that there are established channels to handle individual and collective challenges in the institution.

The CDF assures the public that the UPDF will carry out a thorough investigation and whoever shall be found culpable will be brought to book.

We appreciate that individuals do not have equal or similar skills to handle challenges, therefore we encourage our personnel to always seek administrative and professional help using our established structures.

I joined Army in 2013 did basic training and also did cadet there after few years and currently have been serving at a rank of Lt. As I leave these are the issues to discuss.

Eng. Ogwang is the cause of my death.

Him after being deployed in engrs brigade he chased every engineer who was working with in Central region, not even working with that engr for even a day. Truck the record of works done by us before Maj ogwang. Like I for one visit mpigi district, and Butambala. Specifically in Butambala look at Gombe hospital. Dear CDF Maj Ogwanga found Block ready made in gombe worth 100m and claiming that we’re thieves cause we made blocks for selling.

No he is just selfish he did not know that the former leader was strategic and would plan for the future. MAJ ogwand he did not buy any block in gomba district cause he found a soft landing. Ogwang did not even manage to pay the debits he found and they are the once consuming us.

Dear CDF harmful propaganda and selfish interests will make you hate and abundon good people and pull up wrong elements. Sir reach on ground and make proper changes.
