"Late Ssegirinya was ideological disoriented and didn't use his energy productively"-Keffa Mafumo

Keffa Mafumo, the Assistant Private Secretary to president M7 on youth, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Muhammad Ssegirinya, a man whose activism and unwavering commitment to the marginalized left an indelible mark on the nation. Even though he was loved by many, He threw missiles to wrong targets. He always attacked President M7 for No reason, the late always threw missles to other NRM supporters creating politics of hate and sectarianism.

It is on record that during the 2021 November riot, many people were misled by his words on social media. Calling himself Mr Update, he went on Social media to be specific, Facebook live and told the public that Bobi Wine had been killed and the body had been taken to unknown place, this led to riots which even led to deaths in Kampala city.

Mr Ssegirinya, affectionately known as the “Councillor of the Poor,” dedicated his life to advocating for the underprivileged. From his time as a Kampala councillor to his tenure as Member of Parliament for Kawempe North, his focus was unyielding: to uplift the voiceless and challenge societal injustices. Despite health challenges and legal hurdles, his determination never wavered. His story became a testament to resilience, though it also revealed the dark interplay in politics and was ideological disoriented.

Late Ssegirinya didn't use his energy productively, he took it to political, if you look at all his projects, they all collapsed due to luck of track.

He was a good leader but ideologically disoriented, he kept saying that the NRM government had failed, and he opeted to start a hospital, which didnt even last long.

this was luck of orientation and Politically excited. He had good ideas but he never consulted on senior politicians, this saw him make many mistakes.

If we talke about his illness, late Ssegirinya went to Parliament when he was ill, actually it is on record that he was brought from Nairobi hospital to come and swear in and was taken back to his sickbay.

Therfore it is wrong for the opposition to keep blaming president M7 on his death.

his Health struggles were emblematic of systemic failures that left him exposed to both political persecution and personal suffering.

A significant moment of compassion came from Speaker of Parliament Hon. Anita Among, whose understanding allowed Ssegirinya to maintain his parliamentary seat despite his incapacitation. This gesture was a rare beacon of humanity in a political landscape often marked by rigidity.

Ssegirinya’s passing is not merely a loss to his family and constituency but a loss to the nation. It is a stark call for introspection and reform to all politicians.

Ssegirinya, the late Member of Parliament for Kawempe North, was a revered figure within the opposition, known for his unwavering commitment to justice and democracy.

His death sparked an outpouring of grief among supporters, who regard him as a symbol of resilience in the face of political adversity.

He was buried today in Kadugala, in Masaka District amidst fights between NUP’s Bobi Wine and Mpuuga.
