Late Ssegirinya's Daughter Kidnapped By His Driver/PA Kasaga


Former Kawempe North, Late Hon. Ssegirinya Muhammad's Daughter, Nagirinya Aliah has been missing from home a day after the burial of her father. 

According to the mother/widow, Nagirinya was kidnapped by a gentleman only identified as Kasaga, late Ssegirinya’s Driver and Personal assistant.

"After the burial of My husband Ssegirinya, my daughter was taken away, I was not aware, we kept looking for her the whole day, the following day we filed a case at police. The next day one of our elders told us that Nagirinya went with Kasaga in his car after the burial" -Widow said.

She further noted that while at police, she contacted Kasaga who admitted to have taken Nagirinya, though confirmed that he was not ready to return her to her mother. 

"Kasaga wants to use my daughter to claim money from the speaker of Parliament as well as collecting funds from other well wishers, in the name of taking care of my daughter"-Widow.

During a special sitting a few weeks ago, where Members of Parliament paid tribute to the deceased legislator, speaker Among committed to covering the tuition for Ssegirinya’s daughter, Aliyah Nagirinya.

She assured that Nagirinya would attend her schools for both primary and secondary education.

The gesture came after Mr. Bumali Mpindi, MP representing persons with disabilities, urged his fellow legislators to each contribute at least Shs500,000 to support Ssegirinya’s family.

In addition to the Speaker’s pledge, Butambala Woman MP, Ms. Aisha Kabanda, proposed a collective contribution from MPs to establish a business for the family.

She suggested that if each MP contributed at least Shs300,000, they could raise Shs150 million to help the family start a sustainable income-generating venture.
