The National Resistance Movement (NRM) party has today, the 26th January 2025 rolled out the display and verification of the membership register in all villages nationwide. The party secretariat last month undertook the digitisation of the 18 million and above members.
The NRM vice chairperson for the Eastern Region, Capt. Mike Mukula, who presided over the launch of the display exercise, tasked all party members to cross-check their details with the village registrars beginning Wednesday, 29th, to avoid missing out on participating in the structure and primary elections.
“The register is very vital in ensuring transparent and credible primary elections of flag bearers and building a strong party up to the grassroots,” Hon. Mukula.

The NRM Secretary General, Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong told the party administrators and registrars of the districts who had convened at the party headquarters for the launch of the exercise to commit more time and energies in ensuring a clean register.
“Kindly go and work diligently on the register. The NRM members are looking up to you so don’t not let them down by doing substandard work,” SG Todwong said.
He reminded the 18 million plus members in the digital register, those aged 16 and 17 to also register as party members.
In her submission Amb. Barbara Nekesa, the NRM National Treasurer commended the Administrators and Registrars for “doing very well in round one of registration, which enabled us to digitize the register.”
“We are back for round two to confirm what we did in round one kindly do it diligently,” Hon.Nekesa said.
The Director of Finance and Administration, Hajjat Medina Naham Ojale, cautioned against indiscipline of any form during the displaying and updating exercise.
“Please be careful while handling anything in your various offices. Desist from anything illegal and keep in touch with us at the secretariat for guidance.” Medina said.
The NRM Electoral Commission Chairperson, Dr. Tanga Odoi, revealed that the electoral roadmap will come out soon; the register is sorted.
“To the election officers, go and tell the sub-county, parishes, and village registrars to handle the registers with extra care,” Tanga said.
The training was also attended by Members of the Central Executive Committee CEC, including the Vice Chairperson for Buganda Region, Hon Kiwanda Suubi, Hon. Lydia Wanyoto, the NRM Women’s League Chairperson, Hon. James Tweheyo (Workers League) and Top Management of the NRM Secretariat.
