The Kamuli Chief Magistrate’s Court has sentenced a 35-year-old woman to 20 years in prison for attempted murder after she was convicted of cutting off her husband’s genitals.
Kevina Nabirye, a mother of four, was found guilty of attacking her husband, Mathias Bwamiki, on the night of February 18, 2025, at their marital home in Buguwa village, Kamuli District.
She accused him of poor sexual performance and infidelity before committing the gruesome act.
Delivering the judgment on Wednesday, February 26, Chief Magistrate Paul Owino ruled that Nabirye’s actions warranted a severe punishment. He emphasized that the sentence was meant to serve as a deterrent to similar crimes and to reform the convict.
