BREAKING: Accountant General, Seven Gov’t Officials Arrested Over Missing Shs60 Billion from Bank of Uganda


The Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) has detained the Accountant General along with seven other officials from the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Uganda as part of an ongoing investigation into the disappearance of $16 million (approximately Shs60 billion) from the central bank.

Sources indicate that the suspects’ case files have been transferred to Nateete Police Station and Kira Division Police for further processing.

Authorities have yet to release an official statement regarding the arrests, but investigations are ongoing to establish how the funds went missing.
