The Forteportal City Resident Commissioner, who is also the father of the Queen (Inebantu) of Busoga, Mr Bayole Stanley, has urged contractors to avoid corruption & shoddy work as the move to kick start the construction of Bukuku Community Seed School.
RCC Bayole made the remarks during the official ground break.
In his remarks, he also warned Contractors Who Inflate Costs, and yet work is substandard.
"This project is in billions of shillings. We don't need to take it for granted. Therefore, I request all the contractors and stakeholders to be kin and transparent"- Bayole.
Bayole also threatened to arrest any contractor who would be found guilty of any corruption related issues.
"As you are all aware, I am not part of those that tolerate corruption. My mandate is to monitor and supervise all government programs and projects. Therefore, I don't need any permission to make any arrest. "- Bayole assured them.
According to Bayole, the project will consume over 2.5bn Uganda shillings.
Bayole also commissioned the renovation of Nyakasura Junior Primary School, which will consume over 84 million shillings.
The event was attended by different stakeholders, including City Mayor Asaba Luyonga, Lord Councillors of Fort Portal, and other government officials.
