Amongi said through a multi-dimensional approach, they have reformed labour laws, attracted investment by private sectors in the Social Protection industry where they are offering health insurance.

She added that the sector is also implementing lending and savings programs targeting vulnerable groups, partnering with financial institutions to offer affordable financial services to groups such as women, youths, persons with disabilities, older persons, refugees and the rural poor.

“We have provided affordable access to public services such as water, institutions to dispense justice (police), decentralizing court sessions to rural areas and offering online services with cheap internet and technology that has supported the rural poor to access many services,” she said.
