Yesterday while in Parliament, MPs from Mbale City, Hon. Karim Masaba and Hon. Connie Galiwango appealed to government to compensate traders who lost their merchandise during the recent fires which gutted their shops in Mbale City.

The fire broke out at around 11pm on the 11th of January 2025 and quickly turned into a blaze that spread through the building, leaving several businesses in ruins.

Info gathered by the members of parliament indicated that entire livelihood the affected traders is gone in a matter of minutes, visibly shaken by the incident. While no injuries were reported.
"The losses have left many business owners devastated, therefore I request government to rescue the crumbling traders" - Masaba before parliament.
