The Lwengo District LC5 chairman has officially announced his interest to contest as Bukoto West Member of parliament in the forthcoming 2026 general elections.
Via his official X platform, Kitata posted his official political poster with the nrm logo and colours.
Kitata is expected to battle it out with Hon. Muhammad Ssentaayi the incumbent, and 5 others in this race.
Kitata is well known for his boldness and outspoken as far as corruption is concerned.
Recently, Kitata tabled several reasons hindering development at the district before President M7, he also tabled a list of land grabbers, and wetland encroachers.
Kitatta has been mentioned in various contexts related to local governance and political activities. For instance, he’s known for pledging to reduce brutality in policy enforcement in Lwengo District, which was carved out of Masaka in 2010.
He’s also been linked to the "Omalako Jjaja Tova Ku Main" slogan, tied to a campaign supporting President Museveni’s potential 2026 reelection bid, though the origins of this slogan have been disputed.
