Saturday, 22nd March 2025

Saturday, 22nd March 2025 was a special occasion of Visitation Day and Class level meeting in Teso College Aloet. The parents expressed their heartfelt congratulations and deep appreciation to the Headteacher, the teaching staff, and the entire administration of Teso College Aloet for the progressive students’ academic performance, particularly in science subjects in the recently released Advanced Level (UACE) examination results, 2024.

The analysis of UACE reflected an upward trend in academic performance at Teso College Aloet, with many students achieving high grades. For instance, in 2024, notable performance was registered in the following areas: 11 As & 8 Bs in Physics; 5As & 8 Bs in Mathematics; 6Bs in Chemistry; 5Bs in Biology; and 4 As in Technical Drawing, among others. Overall, 121 (61. %) out of 198 students qualify for university education. This achievement was a clear reflection of the dedication, hard work, and commitment demonstrated by the teachers and the entire school management.

In the recent UCE examinations, 2022 and 2023 students achieved an unprecedented “8 in 8 aggregates.” Specifically, four (4) students scored 8 in 8 aggregates, the highest number ever recorded in more than 50 years of the school’s existence.  This performance clearly reflects high standards and dedication synonymous with Teso College Aloet.

Parents urged all students to remain focused and disciplined in their academic journey because the world out there was hostile for them. They further pledged to continue supporting the school in all its academic and co-curricular endeavours. Rev. Charles Olupot and Mr. John Oluka called for continued commitment and teamwork among the parents, teachers, students and all stakeholders of Teso College Aloet in a strive for greater heights of excellence.

The chairperson Board of Governors of Teso College Aloet, Ms. Roselinda Oyuu was concerned that a section of Old Boys was circulating misleading information on social media regarding the academic performance of the College. She clarified that Teso College Aloet remains committed to academic excellence, as demonstrated by the steady improvement in students’ academic performance over the past years.

Ms. Roselinda Oyuu categorically stated that the opinion regarding academic performance being circulated by a section of the old boys on social media does not reflect the true position of the college's performance; and the Board of Governors together with the school administration remain transparent and accountable to all stakeholders, including parents, students, and alumni, regarding the academic standing and overall progress of the college.

Oyuu also urged the Old Boys to route all their concerns/inputs through their leadership structures to the Board of Governors and refrain from disseminating unverified information that may tarnish the reputation of the college. She further clarified that constructive feedback and support towards the continuous improvement of the college are always welcome through the appropriate channels. Teso College Aloet takes pride in its legacy and remains focused on maintaining the integrity and excellence that define the institution.

His Worship the Mayor of Soroti City, Joshua Edogu applauded the school administration, teachers and the students for the progressive academic performance at Teso College Aloet over time. He encouraged the school administration to maintain this momentum and make this success to be a stepping stone to even greater accomplishments. As chairperson of the school foundation body, His Worship the Mayor pledged continued support from the Foundation Body to the school’s leadership in providing the necessary resources and guidance to ensure that Teso College Aloet remained a centre of academic excellence.

Joshua Edogu welcomed all interested stakeholders to seek true information about academic performance and progress to enable them play their roles effectively as stakeholders.

The Resident City Commissioner, Soroti City, Mr. Peter Pex Paak congratulated Teso College Aloet for the progressive academic performance and applauded the teaching and learning of sciences at advanced level of study. He commended the Headteacher, Opasso Julius, Board of Governors and the entire staff for steering the school towards the right trend.

The Resident City Commissioner, took the same opportunity to caution individuals who are spreading misleading and damaging narratives on social media aimed at tarnishing the image of the school, and creating unnecessary panic within the community. Their actions on social media have been noted as personal sentiments and baseless allegations intended to distract the school from its mission of providing quality education and shaping the future of our young generation. He therefore urged the parents, students, and the entire community to disregard such misinformation and instead rally behind the school administration as they continue to uphold the high standards of academic and moral excellence that Teso College Aloet is known for.
