Over the weekend, thousands of supporters and well wishers gathered in Zesui Sub-County in Sironko District, as Engineer Julius Nakiyi presented his manifesto.
During the speeches, Engineer Nakiyi outlined his core beliefs, goals, and plans for the future, serving as a guiding document for his policies and actions as we get closer to the 2026 general elections.
Nakiyi promised economic transformation in Budadiri East, which he believes is a process of changing the structure and composition of a constituency economy to achieve sustainable economic growth, reduce poverty, and improve living standards.
He assured voters that once elected, he will introduce village model SACCOs to enable small and medium businesses to access funds to bust their businesses.
The cinfident politician assured his supporters of better and improved infrastructure in Budadiri East, which included better roads, schools, medical facilities, and transmission of electricity in every sub-county.
Nakiyi further stressed that agriculture should be embraced in the constituency. Since the region has fertile soil, it should be noted that Budadiri as a region is among the food baskets in Bugisu Subregion.
He concluded by assuring better life and relocation of those affected by mudslide.
He said that as soon as he is elected as area member of parliament, he will table a motion before parliament to raise compensation fee from ten million to 50, which will help transfer all the affected stakeholders.
Nakiyi is expected to battle it out with his rival, Hon. Sasaga John, the incumbent.
