In a significant boost to Uganda’s aviation sector, 137 students graduated today from Capt. Mike Mukula’s Civil Aviation Academy. The colorful ceremony took place at Protea Hotel in Kampala and drew a host of aviation industry stakeholders, proud parents, and guests from across the country.
The graduation was graced by the Deputy Director of Civil Aviation Authority Ms. Oliv Lumonya who delivered an inspiring keynote speech.
She congratulated the graduands on their achievement and encouraged them to be ambassadors of professionalism and excellence as they step into the global aviation space.
“You are entering an industry that is both competitive and vital to global connectivity,” she remarked. “Carry the Ugandan flag high and always remember that safety, customer service, and discipline are at the heart of aviation.”
Capt. Mike Mukula, the academy’s founder and a seasoned pilot and statesman, also addressed the graduates.
In his speech, he urged them to embrace integrity, continuous learning, and adaptability, highlighting the dynamic nature of the aviation industry.
“This graduation is not the end but the beginning of your professional journey. Always stay ahead of the curve, be disciplined, and maintain high ethical standards,” Mukula said.
The graduands completed specialized training in a variety of disciplines, reflecting the academy’s commitment to producing all-rounded professionals.
These included: Air Cabin Crew Training, Airport Operations Fundamentals, Cargo Introductory, Foundation in Travel and Tourism, Airline Customer Service, Aviation Security Awareness, Global Distribution Systems (Fares and Ticketing) – Amadeus and Operations & Dispatch.
The event was not only a celebration of academic and technical achievement but also a moment of reflection on Uganda’s growing potential in the aviation industry.
As regional and global demand for skilled aviation professionals rises, institutions like Capt. Mukula’s academy are playing a vital role in positioning Ugandans for opportunities both at home and abroad.
The graduates are now set to join the job market, armed with globally recognized skills that can propel them into careers with airlines, airports, tourism companies, and logistics firms worldwide.
