Sino Uganda Mbale Industrial Park has donated various items worth 48,000,000 Ugandan shillings to the Muslim community of Mbale in celebration of Eid al-Fitr.
Before handing over the items to the regional Kadhi and Assistant Mufti in charge of Eastern Uganda, Dr. Ahmed Hamid Wandega, the Mayor of Mbale City, His Worship Casim Namugali, expressed his gratitude to the leadership of Sino Uganda Mbale Industrial Park.
He commended their initiative in supporting the Muslim community during Eid and acknowledged their commitment to the welfare of Mbale residents.
The mayor also appreciated the park's management and top leadership for their continuous support, particularly for their plan to construct a primary school in Kibiniko, Bukasakya Ward. He highlighted that the area has had no primary school since its establishment, forcing children to travel long distances to access education.
This development, he noted, will be a significant relief to the community. He prayed for the Almighty Allah to bless the investors of Sino Uganda Mbale Industrial Park for their generosity.
In her speech, the Resident City Commissioner of Mbale, Asumin Nasike, first commended the Muslim community for fulfilling one of the five pillars of Islam.
She also praised Sino Uganda Mbale Industrial Park for demonstrating social corporate responsibility by giving back to the community, strengthening the bond between the investors and the people of Mbale.
"In Africa, it is good to share with the people around you. The spirit of togetherness, love, and sharing is what you are demonstrating today," she said.
She further acknowledged the positive relationship between the industrial park and the government, emphasizing that Uganda is pleased with the contributions made by Sino Uganda Mbale Industrial Park.
"When we gave you space in Uganda, you, in turn, have supported Ugandans in many ways, which shows that you are good people," she added.
Musa Senyonga, the Chairman of the Eid Organizing Committee, thanked Sino Uganda Mbale Industrial Park for the donations, noting that the Muslim community is very happy with their support. He pledged continued support for the industrial park in all its endeavors.
He also expressed gratitude for the employment opportunities created by the industrial park, which have enabled thousands of people in Mbale City to support their families and improve their livelihoods.
Dr. Ahmed Hamid Wandega, the regional Kadhi and Assistant Mufti of Eastern Uganda, congratulated the Muslim community for completing 29 days of fasting.
He also expressed appreciation for the Sino Uganda Mbale Industrial Park for creating jobs for the people of Mbale City and surrounding areas.
He thanked the Government of Uganda for facilitating the establishment of the industrial park in Bukasakya, a region that was once considered unsafe but has now transformed into a thriving industrial Park.
"People no longer need to travel to China because China is now in Mbale. Just visit Sino Uganda Mbale Industrial Park, and you will find whatever you need without spending on flights," he stated.
Dr. Wandega also commended His Excellency the President of Uganda for his leadership, which has led to significant development in Mbale, lifting many people out of poverty.
He urged Ugandans to embrace the "Buy Uganda, Build Uganda" initiative to support local industries.
Mr. Laurent, the Manager of Sino Uganda Mbale Industrial Park, thanked the people of Mbale City for their warm relationship with the park since its inception.
He reaffirmed the park’s commitment to continuing support for local communities in various ways.

The donated items included plates, shirts, powder soap, kettles, ovens, bulbs, jeans, mirrors, knickers, bags, televisions, juice blenders, mobile phones, speakers, diapers, caps, covers, sheets, mats, papers, water, and cash worth 4 million Ugandan shillings.
The event marked another milestone in strengthening the relationship between the industrial park and the local community, fostering economic growth and social development in Mbale City.
