More than 1.7m refugees to face hard life as donors confirm pulling out of Uganda due to Trump effects.

The most affected programs are mostly funded by USAID.

The foreign donors that have been funding the projects of feeding refugees in Uganda have notified Uganda of their plans to end the financial aid within three months, after which, Government will be required to shoulder the financial obligation of feeding all the 1.7million refugees residing in Uganda.

The revelation was made by Kasule Lumumba, Minister of General Duties- Office of the Prime Minister (OPM), while appearing before Parliament’s Presidential Affairs Committee where she led the team from OPM in presenting its 2025/26 ministerial policy statement.
